LNG Advances with U.S. Approval of Rail Shipment

The U.S. government's approval of the safe shipment of LNG cargoes by rail is a great advance that opens the door to meeting the energy needs of niche markets where a pipeline or larger cargoes are neither needed nor economically feasible. While they cannot replace pipelines or LNG export tankers, they offer Western North American gas producers and their customers greater flexibility than before -- and a shorter time to create a viable market.
